You might be feeling stressed about Black Friday shopping or just shopping so close to the holidays in general! The closer it gets to Christmas, the busier the malls and shopping centers seem to get!

Personally, I love doing a lot of my shopping online, especially today in 2020. As a minimalist, I love giving people things that they will actually love and use. I try to get them something that is either useful or meaningful.

The following minimalist gift ideas are perfect if the recipient of the gift is a minimalist, or if you are a minimalist. These are all gifts that are useful and prevent clutter. The best part? Most of these things are available online! Say goodbye to the large crowds and shop from the comfort of your own home.

1. Gift Cards

Let’s get the obvious one out of the way. I know a lot of people don’t particularly love giving a gift card, but try to personalize it to the person. For example, instead of giving them a Visa that they can just use anywhere, get them a gift card to their favorite coffee shop, nail salon, even an Amazon e-gift card. This way, they will see that you thought of them and their personality.

2. Consumable Items

If you are unsure of what to get someone, get them something that everyone uses or consumes! This can be food items such as cookies, cakes, and other baked goods. It can also be household products or beauty products. For example, I love getting lip balms as a gift because I use them everyday and my lips are always dry! Also, don’t forget about your coffee and tea lovers. Delicious ground coffee or tea bags are great gifts or even stocking stuffers.

3. Candles

This one might not be for everyone, but for many people candles make a great gift! Most people love having a nice smelling home. Burning a high quality candle gives such a cozy vibe and is something they can use! Personally, candles are my favorite to give and to receive.

4. Plants

For all your friends and family members who are plant lovers and collectors, why not gift them a plant? A plant is something they will love, appreciate, and take care of. It’s inexpensive, simple, and a great way to clean the air in their home! Plants make great gifts on birthdays too!

5. Experiences

For those in your life who like adventure, gift them a nice experience that they can enjoy for a day. This can be a gift card to go wine tasting, or a pass to go somewhere that they like such as a museum, zoo, or even a concert. The type of experience you give is totally dependent on the person so it’s a great way to personalize it!

6. Everyday Items

Everyone needs their everyday items. Sure, they might not be as exciting, but they will be greatly appreciated. Gift people things like socks, razors, or clothing items you know they need such as workout clothes or pajamas.

7. A Photo or Photo Album

Photos or a nice photo album are both great gifts to give. It can be family photos that you took the time to print and put together in a nice photo album or in picture frames. It’s also a gift that you can give to multiple people in your family for a pretty inexpensive price!

8. Your Time & Services

We all have those people in our families who don’t really need or want anything. Or maybe you just can’t figure out what in the world to get them that they don’t already have. Your time is a very valuable thing to give. You could gift a services, such as offering someone to clean their house, babysit their kids, or cook them a nice meal so that they can relax! Another great idea if you are handy is to offer to fix up something in their home or in their yard!

9. Subscription(s)

And finally, the last of minimalist gift ideas. You can always give someone a subscription of somebody. Whether it’s Spotify, Netflix, Hulu, or even a meal subscription if they are busy people! Figure out what they like and what they already don’t have and get them a subscription they can enjoy and get use out of!

If you are feeling stressed about the holidays coming up, here are some ways you can have a minimalist holiday season to help you reduce the stress!
