Sweet potatoes are the perfect blend of sweet and salty flavors. These baked sweet potato fries and baked to a tender and crispy perfection! Dip them in the “honey” mustard sauce and you take them to a whole new level. Lately, my favorite dip is “honey” mustard sauce that is made with agave instead of honey. However, you are free to dip these fries in whatever you want of course!
But seriously, sweet potato fries make the perfect appetizer or side to any meal. Lately, burgers and sandwiches with these fries on the side have been my go to! The ingredients for the fries are extremely simple, which make these an easy, quick side dish to whip up for you and your family.
How to make the Sweet Potato Fries
For these baked sweet potato fries, you will need:
- 3 large sweet potatoes
- Olive Oil
- Sea Salt
- Paprika
- Black Pepper
And that’s it!
First, to prep the fries, start by peeling the sweet potatoes if not organic. If your sweet potatoes are organic and you don’t mind the skin, leave it on! The skin of sweet potatoes is packed with fiber and nutrients.
Once the sweet potatoes and washed and peeled, chop them into fries, thick or thin slice, whatever you prefer . Then, toss the chopped sweet potatoes in a large mixing bowl with the olive oil and spices. Once everything is evenly coated, transfer the fries on to the lined baking sheet.
Finally, place them in a pre-heated oven for 30-40 min and done! As a result, you now have simple, delicious, healthy sweet potato fries.
Baked Sweet Potato Fries with “Honey” Mustard Dip
Ingredients
- 3 Large Sweet Potatoes
- 3 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Sea Salt or more to taste
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
"Honey" Mustard Dipping Sauce
- 4 tbsp Mustard
- 1 tbsp Agave
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400F (204C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
- Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then slice them into fries (however thick/thin you want them).
- In a mixing bowl, add sliced sweet potatoes and mix in the olive oil and all the spices until sweet potatoes are coated well and everything is evenly combined.
- Transfer fries to baking sheet that you set aside and spread them out evenly, making sure that they are not over lapping.
- Bake for 30-40 min, flipping them halfway so that they don't burn on one side.
- Once fries are tender and slightly crisp, remove them from heat and set aside while you prep dipping sauce.
- For the "honey" mustard dip, simply take the mustard and agave and combine them well in a small dipping bowl.
- Enjoy! You can garnish the fries with fresh chopped parsley if desired, but this is totally optional!
